BTS' Agency Blackmailed; Releases Official Statement Regarding the Incident
K-pop boy group BTS' management agency, Big Hit Entertainment made an official statement on blackmail against the agency and its artists.

On September 6, Big Hit Entertainment revealed that the CEO of a marketing firm who blackmailed the agency was sentenced to one year in prison.

The CEO threatened the agency to reveal confidential information about Bit Hit's illegal marketing practices.

He wrote an email stating, "I have obtained multiple documents regarding your illegal marketing practices. If you don't send me money, I will distribute the documents to media."
BTS' Agency Blackmailed; Releases Official Statement Regarding the IncidentBig Hit Entertainment stated, "The man who blackmailed our agency handled advertising and marketing for BTS' albums two years ago. It was a single project, but afterwards he made threats against us."

The agency clarified, "Big Hit Entertainment is a decent company which all the contracts and marketing practices are managed accordingly with standards. 

We would like to apologize to BTS members and its fans for making them worry regarding this incident. We will do everything we can do to prevent this to happen again."
