K-pop boy group 2AM's Jo Kwon is reportedly leaving JYP Entertainment after spending over 16 years.
On September 22, Yonhap News Agency reported that Jo Kwon has talked with CEO of management agency, Park Jin-young, about terminating his exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment.
According to a person who is familiar with Jo Kwon's matter said, "Jo Kwon was a trainee at JYP since 2001. He was a trainee for seven years and made a debut in 2008."
The staff continued, "After discussing his future career direction, he has decided to move to a different management agency."
Jo Kwon, who made a debut as a member of 2AM in 2008, has renewed contract with JYP Entertainment in 2015 while other 2AM members moved to different management agencies.
2AM's Lim Seul Ong moved to sidusHQ, Jeong Jinwoon to Mystic 89, and Lee Chang Min to Big Hit Entertainment.
A source revealed 2AM members' past interview, "There's a chance that our members will gather and perform as a group again in the future. Our group has not disbanded."
