A Man Who Claimed to be Moon Chae Won's Boyfriend Received Sentence

The man who claimed to be Korean actress Moon Chae Won's boyfriend finally received his sentence.

Back in April, Moon Chae Won's management agency took legal action against a man who claimed himself as actress Moon's boyfriend and posted malicious comments online.

The man was arrested soon after, and was under detention for the duration of prosecution.

On September 21, the court sentenced the defendant as guilty of all charges, for committing defamation crimes against the actress.

The justice department stated, "The defendant posted false information and gave severe damages to the victim.

However, the department put the defendant's self-reflection of his wrongdoings and the fact that most people did not believe what he posted into consideration."

The man was sentenced to two years of probation, during which if he commits repetitive wrongful actions, he will be in prison for one year.
