"We're from 'Killing Billboard Chart' high school named BTS."
This is how BTS introduced itself on September 23 on Korea's variety show called 'Knowing Brothers' and it seems like the boys' prediction was right!
On September 24, the Billboard reported, BTS' new album 'LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her' has made it to top 10 charts scoring #7 from 200 album charts.
The Billboard 200 chart is based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales track equivalent albums(TEA) and streaming equivalent albums(SEA).
BTS' new ranking will be noted officially on The Billboard's website on September 26.
BTS has proven its global fame, pushing where no K-pop groups have gone before, by scoring in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart.
This is beating its own record as well, as BTS' 2016 album 'Wings' was the highest-charting K-pop album previously, ranking in #26.
In last May, due to its exceptional popularity on social networks, BTS has won its very first Billboard Music Award as 'Top Social Artist'. The news went viral as America's popular singer Justin Bieber has been receiving 'Top Social Artist' award for six consecutive years.
Moreover, BTS' new album's pre-order sale has totaled to 1,122,946, surpassing 1 million sales quickly. When BTS' album was released and was available for sale, 759,263 units of BTS' new album was sold within a week.
BTS' new album has been sweeping global music charts as well. On September 23, BTS' new track 'DNA' ranked #90 in England's Singles Chart. BTS' album 'LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her' was ranked as #13 in Sweden, #18 in Belgium, #19 in Ireland, #56 in Italy, and #57 in Germany.
