$8.9M Annual Sales, IU Pays Off All of Her Parents' Debt in Just 3 Years!
Oct 13, 2017

'Korea's little sister' IU has paid off all of her family's debt.
On October 9, tvN's 'The List' aired an episode about stars who have paid off all their family's debt in the speed of light.
The episode revealed how Korean singer IU had repaid all of her parents' debt upon making a debut as a singer.
As IU's mother had underwritten somebody's debt, IU had to spend a tough childhood where all of her family members had to live separately.
When she was little, she had to live in a small room with her grandmother and help her to sell accessories over one year as a street vendor.
But IU never gave up on her dream. She soon gets admitted to LOEN Entertainment and makes a debut as a singer.
In 2010, IU's 'Good Day' became popular. She also received the nickname of 'Korea's little sister' at that time.
One year later, in 2011, she earned around 100 billion won (8.9 million dollars) from her music sale, drama and advertising earnings. Thus, she was able to repay all of her parents' debt after three years working as a singer.
Last month, IU released her special remake album 'Kkotgalpi #2'.
