K-pop boy group 2PM's Taecyeon is reportedly appointed as an assistant instructor at the recruit training center.
On November 1, according to a relevant source, Taecyeon was chosen as an assistant instructor at the 9th Division Recruit Training Center located in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
He has been assigned as an assistant instructor as he earned high scores during the military basic training. On October 18, after the completion ceremony, he moved to the assigned unit and started to serve as a private.
This is not the first time that a celebrity is chosen to serve as an assistant instructor at the recruit training center.
Earlier, actor Im Siwan was chosen as an assistant instructor, just 2 months after his enlistment.
It was possible as actor Im earned outstanding scores in all categories of basic exercises such as shooting, strength, combat, and agility exercises, thus reaching the status of special class soldier.
Meanwhile, Taecyeon was enlisted in the army after shooting for TV series 'Save Me' on September 4. At that time, people cheered him as he gave up on U.S. permanent residency card to serve as an active soldier in Korea.
Although he was assigned to do an alternative service instead due to a herniated disc in the back, through surgery and medical treatments he was able to serve as an active-duty soldier.
