K-pop girl group TWICE will appear on Japan's most popular year-end song festival, 'Kouhaku Uta Gassen' this year!
On November 16, it was reported that TWICE's name was on this year's lineup of NHK's 'Kouhaku Uta Gassen'.
'Kouhaku Uta Gassen' means 'Red and White Song Battle' in Japanese, and the show features the most popular singers in J-pop industry each year.
It is TWICE's first appearance of the show, and it is the first K-pop artist to join the lineup in the group's debut year.
This will be the first time six years for a K-pop artist group to join 'Kouhaku Uta Gassen', since 2011 when TVXQ, Girls' Generation and KARA appeared on the show.
TWICE, which includes three Japanese members―Momo, Sana and Mina, made its debut in Japan back in June with '#TWICE'.
The album includes TWICE's past hit songs in both Korean and Japanese, such as 'CHEER UP' and 'TT'.
Meanwhile, TWICE successfully wrapped up this year's Japan promotion with a single 'One More Time', and is currently actively promoting in Korea with 'Likey'.
Congratulations, TWICE!
