K-pop girl group Girls' Generation's leader Taeyeon has caused a multi-vehicle accident in Seoul.
On November 28 around 7:40 PM KST, Taeyeon's car rear-ended a taxi and the taxi crashed into another Audi vehicle, causing 3-car crash.
According to the Gangnam District Police, the two passengers in the taxi and the driver of the Audi were sent to a hospital for minor injuries.
Taeyeon was uninjured and is resting at her home, according to her management agency.
However, the victim of the car accident left a long post on her SNS, complaining about Taeyeon getting special treatment because of her celebrity status.
She said that Taeyeon got emergency treatments first, solely because she is a famous idol star.
Reading the victim's post, many netizens criticized Taeyeon and the ambulance crew for the unfair treatment.
Soon after, a netizen who claims to be the towing truck driver at the car accident left a post to clarify the misunderstandings.
The driver defended Taeyeon, stating, "Taeyeon's airbag has deployed, and she expressed her chest pain and dizziness. When the ambulance arrived, the crew checked for the injured first. Also, Taeyeon showed her concerns for the car owners and the passengers, shivering. She did not take the ambulance, and took the manager's car instead."
The police confirmed that Taeyeon was not driving under the influence of alcohol, and is currently investigating the accident based on the witnesses' statements.
