Korea's behemoth entertainment group SM Entertainment is planning to produce a boy group in Vietnam.
On December 5, SM's CEO/Producer Lee Soo-man had a keynote speech during 'MK Vietnam Forum' held at Lotte Hotel Hanoi, Vietnam.
During his keynote speech, the producer shared his insights of the future trends in Asian market as well as the rise of V-pop(Vietnamese music).
Lee said, "SM has great expectations towards Vietnam. Vietnam shares similar culture, demographics and living trends with Korea."
Then the producer revealed his upcoming plans in Vietnamese market, launching a new Vietnam-based idol group.
Lee continued, "SM will look for future artists in Vietnam to launch an 'NCT Vietnamese Team'. The group will become a superstar not just in Asia but all across the globe. We will lead the trend of V-pop through the new group, just like K-pop."
Meanwhile, NCT 127 made an appearance at the forum and performed to its hit songs including 'Cherry Bomb' and 'Limitless'.
