On March 20, Korea Association of the Deaf has announced that IU made a donation worth of 50 million won (approximately 47,000 dollars).
A staff of the association noted, "In recent days, IU has learned sign language, and she got to know people who have difficulties in hearing and learning languages."
The staff continued, "IU wanted to help them out, and she found the volunteer center run by our association."
Since she acknowledged the poor environment for the elders struggling in hearing and learning languages, IU asked the association to give them more support with her donation.
IU's interest in the people hard of hearing and learning languages seems to be influenced by her upcoming drama 'My Mister' (literal translation).

For her role, IU learned sign language and could naturally get to know the group of people.

Meanwhile, IU's upcoming drama 'My Mister' draws a story of 'Daddy-Long-Legs' between a middle-aged man and a girl with experiences full of obstacles.
