K-pop boy group BTS' management agency, Big Hit Entertainment has reported a significant increase in its profits.
On March 22, Big Hit Entertainment released its official financial report of 2017.
According to the report, the agency's total revenue of the year soared to 92.4 billion won (approximately 86.1 million dollars), 162% increase from 2016.
Big Hit also marked operationg profits of 32.5 billion won (approx. 30.3 million dollars) and net profits of 24.6 billion won (approx. 22.9 million dollars) in the same year, having remarkable increases of 214% and 173%, respectively.
The agency's assets skyrocketed to 61.2 billion won (approx. 57 million dollars, 221%) and capital to 40.5 billion won (approx. 37.7 million dollars, 160%) as well.
According to Gaon Chart, BTS' latest album 'LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her' has sold 1.49 million copies in 2017.
BTS' world tour concert '2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III THE WINGS TOUR' also gathered more than 550,000 audience in total, bringing additional profits to the agency.
A representative from Big Hit Entertainment stated, "2017 was the year in which BTS' domestic and global success translated into financial outcome. We achieved the highest performance in every way, since the agency's establishment in 2005."
The representative continued, "Not only did we achieve external growth, but we also achieved growth in quality, including the diversification of our profits and revenue streams."
Meanwhile, BTS launches its original documentary series online called 'BTS: BURN THE STAGE' on March 29.
