Mar 28, 2018
An American business magazine Forbes has announced this year's list of the '30 Under 30' Asia, and K-pop boy group BTS was on the list.
The '30 Under 30' list selects 30 people under the age of 30 who are the most influential in various categories in Asia. On Entertainment & Sports category, BTS was chosen as the only K-pop artist/group on the list. The magazine especially highlighted BTS' success in the U.S. market, "BTS' music has taken over the world in recent years, and 2017 was the year they finally cracked the notoriously competitive U.S. market." It continued, "The seven-member Korean boy band performed at the American Music Awards in November, the first K-pop act to do the honors [...] leaving a trail of online hysteria and viral clips in their wake from a devout―and constantly growing―fanbase."
Other than BTS, six more South Koreans were also on the list: actress Ahn Seo-hyun, pianist Cho Seong-jin, rock climber Kim Jain, golfer Park Sung Hyun, figure skater You Young and skeleton racer Yun Sung-bin.
