2NE1 Park Bom's Drug Case Resurfaces
Disbanded K-pop girl group 2NE1's member Park Bom's drug case in 2010 has been questioned once again.

On April 24 episode of MBC's 'PD Note', the program put Park Bom's drug case into a discussion.
2NE1 Park BomBack in October 2010, Park Bom was caught smuggling 82 amphetamine pills that are forbidden in Korea.

At the time, Park's management agency YG Entertainment stated that she was unaware that the substance was illegal in Korea and that she was taking them for medical purposes.

Her case was referred to the prosecution, but was dismissed without indictment.
2NE1 Park Bom'PD Note' compared Park Bom's case with a similar case―as Park Bom's case was closed without further investigation, while the other defendant ended up paying fine and punished in jail.

Since the defendant purchased 29 pills of the same drug, experts raised suspicions of Park's celebrity status bearing influence on her not being charged for drug smuggling.
2NE1 Park BomLawyer Cho Soo-yeon, former prosecutor who has worked for the drugs case in Incheon District Prosecutor's Office, also highlighted that anyone taking amphetamine to Korea cannot be acquitted.

He explained, "There has not been any similar case (like Park Bom's) before. The one involved should be thoroughly investigated and normally, there is a punishment for the defendant, no matter what the reason is."
