Go A Ra Reveals How Competitive It Is to Get into SM Entertainment

Korean actress Go A Ra revealed how fierce the competition is to get into her previous management agency SM Entertainment, which is one of the top entertainment management agencies in Korea.
On June 9 episode of JTBC's variety show 'Knowing Brothers', Go A Ra was invited as a guest.During the talk, Go A Ra mentioned how she made her debut as an actress.
Go A Ra said, "I participated in the contest for teenagers at SM Entertainment in 2003. I won first place as the best looking contestant as well as the best dancer."She said, "Actually, I started practicing for the contest because my friend wanted to become a singer, but I ended up winning in the contest and joining SM Entertainment."One of the cast members Kang Ho Dong then asked, "How many contestants participated in the contest at that time?".
Go A Ra said, "There were about 8000 participants for that particular contest."Her response not only shocked the cast members, but also the viewers.
This showed how difficult it is to get into SM Entertainment, where lots of top K-pop groups, actors, and actresses debuted.
