Ministry of National Defense Clarifies GD Is Not Receiving Preferential Treatment
The Ministry of National Defense has released an official statement regarding an ongoing issue of K-pop boy group BIGBANG's G-DRAGON receiving preferential treatment in the military.

On June 26, the Ministry of National Defense clarified that G-DRAGON is not receiving any sort of special treatment in the military.

The Ministry of National Defense stated, "The hospital in Yangju where G-DRAGON is currently hospitalized has no rooms specifically for colonels. Anyone can use the single room that G-DRAGON is using at the moment if the medical staff thinks it is neccessary."

Regarding the matter of the number of G-DRAGON's sick leaves, they explained, "30 days of annual sick leave are given to all soldiers. So far, he has used 26 days of sick leave. During his time of being hospitalized in the hospital in Yangju will not be counted as sick days."G-DRAGONPreviously on June 25, a media outlet 'Dispatch' reported that G-DRAGON is receiving preferential treatment in the military hospital.

According to the report, G-DRAGON is using the luxurious room that is specifically for colonels, and it also commented on the excessive number of sick leaves that he had used. G-DRAGONIn order to serve the national mandatory duty, G-DRAGON enlisted in the military on February 27, and was placed into the ROK Army's 3rd Infantry Division upon completing his training.

He is expected to be discharged from the military on November 26, 2019.
