K-pop septet BTS awarded with the Order of Cultural Merit from the South Korean government.
On October 24, seven members of BTS attended the award ceremony of '2018 Korean Popular Culture & Arts Awards' held at Olympic Park, Seoul.During the event, Cultural Minister Do Jong-hwan gave 'Hwagwan' Order of Cultural Merit to the seven members of BTS on behalf of President Moon Jae-in.BTS' seven members, the youngest and the first-ever idol group members to receive the medal, were awarded for their outstanding meritorious services to the promotion of Korean pop culture and Hangul, the Korean alphabet.
On this day, the government gave cultural awards to 36 artists or groups, among which cultural medals were bestowed to 13.Meanwhile, BTS successfully wrapped up its North American/European leg of 'LOVE YOURSELF' world tour, and is expected to proceed the tour in major cities throughout Asia.
