V Recalls a Sad Pre-debut Story Upon BTS Topping Billboard Hot 100

K-pop boy group BTS' member V reminisced about the time when he was scammed by a taxi driver.

On September 2, the seven members of BTS sat down for a 'Media Day' online press conference following the group's historic achievement of topping Billboard's Hot 100 with 'Dynamite'.
When asked about his first reaction after hearing 'Dynamite' has topped the chart, V reminisced about BTS' pre-debut and early debut days.

V said, "Thinking about how we were seven years ago, and we came all the way up to Seoul from our hometowns with nothing, practicing in a tiny basement practice room, noisily gathering together to practice song and dance. Such memories are still vivid in my head."
V then recalled a bitter incident where he and his dad got scammed by a taxi driver when they first came up to Seoul before making his debut as a BTS member.

He shared, "I don't know why this memory comes out of the blue, but my dad and I got scammed by a taxi driver when we first arrived in Seoul. We didn't know that he took us through three tunnels just from the station to Sinsa-dong."

He continued, "Now looking back, it has become such a fun memory. Everything up to now, even the hardest times, have all become good memories to cherish. I'm beyond grateful right now."
V also shared his hope that the group's newest achievement can make everyone to throw away all their worries and to be happy just for a day during this hard times.
