"I Prayed for My Baby's Safety" Lee Hanee Recalls Filming Action Scenes During Pregnancy

Actress Lee Hanee has surprised everyone by sharing her experience of filming intense action scenes while pregnant.

On November 28, Lee Hanee guested on CBS' YouTube show and talked about her life.

During the show, the host, Joo Young-hoon, mentioned, "It was when you were working on SBS' drama 'One the Woman' that I read reports about you getting married. Then, just as the drama ended, your baby was born."

The actress started sharing her pregnancy journey, saying, "While shooting 'One the Woman', my husband and I were in a long-distance relationship as he had to be in Hong Kong for a business trip lasting three months. I briefly spent time with him in September and worked for 'One the Woman' until November. It was later that I realized that our brief time in September got me pregnant. I'm not sure if it was him or me that was that good.", she joked, making everyone laugh.
"At first, I didn't even imagine that I was pregnant. Even though I was experiencing some early symptoms, the thought never occurred to me. So, when I started shooting 'One the Woman', I was unaware of my pregnancy.", Lee Hanee said, reminiscing about the early stages of her pregnancy.

The actress then revealed her surprising realization of her pregnancy, "I don't usually sleep in a vehicle. I don't usually doze off, but I was drowsy that day. After dinner, I fell asleep in the car at the filming location to the level of unconsciousness. 'You need to wake up immediately.', someone's voice woke me up.  I soon realized that my face was very swollen. I had to appear on camera quickly, and the camera totally caught how puffy I looked."

"I continued to feel drowsy. When I told my husband, he suggested that I get a pregnancy test. I bought the kit from a drugstore and gave it a try. It showed two lines. I gave it a couple more tries since I couldn't believe it.", she reflected.
"I didn't know what to do. There were a lot of action scenes waiting for me, including some that required me to be on a wire. We were filming from early in the morning to late at night to make a scene that would be shown on TV for five minutes. As the lead actor, I couldn't just refuse to do the scene since it was all written in the script. I also couldn't tell anyone on the set that I was pregnant. Eventually, I just did what I had to do while praying, 'Dear God, please protect my baby.'. But thankfully, my child was okay.", Lee Hanee said and laughed.
Meanwhile, Lee Hanee announced her marriage to a non-celebrity boyfriend in December 2021 and delivered her baby daughter in June 2022.
