"I Wished She Wouldn't Face Any Criticism" Yoo Ji Tae Shows Support for His Wife Kim Hyo Jin

Actor Yoo Ji Tae talked about the experience of both him and his wife, actress Kim Hyo Jin, receiving recognition for their respective dramas around the same time.

On December 1, Yoo Ji Tae had an interview with a news outlet about his latest work, Disney+'s drama 'Vigilante'; an action-thriller based on a webcomic.

Playing 'Jo Heon', a big, muscular character in the drama has been a new challenge to Yoo Ji Tae; he gave his best effort to accurately depict both the physicality and the essence of the character, earning high praise from the viewers.
Meanwhile, Kim Hyo Jin has also been receiving much love from the public for her performance in tvN's drama 'Castaway Diva', which started around the same time as 'Vigilante'.

About what it has been like watching his wife's new work, Yoo Ji Tae said, "Watching my family do their job always worries me. I hoped she wouldn't be the target of any criticism, even more than I hoped her to do well in her role. I've been watching her work with an anxious heart."

"My wife told me people seemed to like me when 'Vigilante' was out. I responded, 'That's because I've worked with the right director. Your director seems excellent as well.'."
When asked what motivates him to keep acting after 25 years in the industry, the actor said, "It's always the projects that drive me, making me want to create a fun movie and deliver a superb performance. I've been feeling that way all along. It has been my job, my dream, and my life." 

Wrapping up the interview, Yoo Ji Tae said, "There will be many more projects and characters in my future, and I think 'Vigilante' is in the middle of it. There are certain roles I've played that people remember me by, and it's challenging to find a character different from what people expect of me.
