On December 4, Shin Mina sat down for an interview with the press to discuss her upcoming film 'Our Season'.
'Our Season' is a fantasy drama film that depicts the miraculous moment of a mother of 'Bang Jin-joo' (Shin Mina), played by actress Kim Hae-sook, spending time with her daughter on a 3-day vacation from heaven.
Before anything else, Shin Mina spoke about her character's relationship with her mother, "I don't have the typical mother-daughter relationship with my mom; we're more like friends. But after filming the movie, I came to have more of those typical daughter feelings toward my mom. I feel like I innately had those feelings, and the movie just helped me to get them out."
"My mom has a different personality than other mothers. I invited her to the VIP premiere of 'Our Season', and the only thing she said to me afterward was, 'You looked pretty in the movie. By the way, I couldn't see you properly when you came to say hi to the audience following the movie. I believe it was due to the dim light in the theater.' She didn't say anything like, 'The film made me sad.'"
"At the VIP premiere, I introduced my mom to Kim Hae-sook. At that time, Kim Hae-sook jokingly said to my mom, 'You know, I might have to steal your daughter from you,' and my mom was like, 'Oh, you go ahead. Take her.'"
The actress stated, "Unlike 'Bang Jin-joo', who struggles to express her feelings to her mom, I always express mine to my mom. My mom doesn't really call me, but I call her often. I treat her really well. I can confidently call myself a good daughter."
She continued, "I get her everything that she wants. As long as she's happy, I don't care about how much it costs. I never cared about the price; her happiness comes first," then laughingly added, "Let me be honest here, I would love to have a daughter like myself!"
