Park Jung Min Shares Why He "Hates" the Idea of His Future Child Becoming a Celebrity

Actor Park Jung Min shared why he would not want his future child to become a celebrity, revealing his experience from his early days in the entertainment industry.

On December 1, Park Jung Min guested on singer Jung Jae-hyung's YouTube show.

During their conversation, Park Jung Min shared that his mother, who had reservations about his career choice, is now more than proud of her son.

"Then, imagine this scenario: what if you had a child, and the child wants to become a celebrity?", Jung Jae-hyung asked the actor.

Park Jung Min paused, frowned, and said, "I would hate it so much."

He added, "As you know, the reality of this job is very different from what it seems. People mostly think of the successful ones when they think of celebrities."

"However, everyone in this industry had started at the bottom and strived to rise to the top. I don't want my loved ones to go through that.", the actor expressed.
When asked to describe the struggles he mentioned, Park Jung Min talked about his experience from his early days in the industry.

"I think this could be the same for every profession out there. For me, the hardest part was the despises.", the actor revealed.

"Since it wasn't like I rose to stardom at once after debut, I had my share of experiences along the way. I've been through from minor despising, like being ignored when I said hello and getting scolded when I don't, to being treated like I don't exist."
Park Jung Min continued, "Sometimes, they made me wait 24 hours on site, only to tell me to go home since there wouldn't be any filming for my scene. I've seen and experienced many cases like that."

"When things were like that for me, a debuted actor, things must have been worse for numerous would-be actors. Being despised not by the public but by people in the industry would be the most sad and upsetting thing for me as a parent if my child were to go through the same thing.", he added.

Meanwhile, Park Jung Min debuted with the 2011 film 'Bleak Night' and gained recognition with his performance in the 2016 film 'Dongju; The Portrait of a Poet'.

The actor's upcoming project, the film 'Harbin' is to hit theaters on December 25.
