On December 9, the press conference for Netflix's television series 'Squid Game 2' was held at Art Hall 1 in Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Seoul.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk and 12 cast members, including Lee Jung Jae, Yim Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, and Park Sung Hoon, attended the event.
After its release in September 2021, 'Squid Game' garnered a syndromic popularity.
The survival thriller horror series, 'Squid Game', is about a secret contest where 456 players risk their lives to win a huge cash prize by playing a series of deadly children's games.
The series is about to release its second season, 'Squid Game 2', to continue its success from the first season.
Set three years following the first season, the second season features former Squid Game winner 'Gi-hun' (actor Lee Jung Jae) once more diving into the game.

One of them, Park Sung Hoon, plays a trans woman character named 'Hyun-ju'.
Park Sung Hoon introduced his character at the event, "'Hyun-ju' is a trans woman who participates in the Squid Game to get money for gender-affirming surgery."
"The altruism that 'Hyun-ju' has makes the character stand out from other players of Squid Game. 'Hyun-ju' is brave and just person with great leadership skills.", the actor further shared.

"I think 'Hyun-ju' will be under a lot of attention and love when the new season comes out. Viewers could see the preservation of humanity through 'Hyun-ju' in the hell on earth that is the world of Squid Game.", the director added.
Meanwhile, 'Squid Game 2' premieres on Netflix on December 26.
