MINO, a member of K-pop boy group WINNER, who is currently serving his alternative military service as a social service worker, has been accused of falsifying attendance records.
On December 17, news outlet Dispatch reported suspicions that MINO and his supervisor may have been concealing his actual attendance records.
Dispatch reported that they recently visited the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility 10 times, where MINO is serving, to verify the claims.
However, they never encountered him, raising suspicions of attendance manipulation.
It is said that MINO began his alternative service at the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation on March 24 of last year.
However, in March of this year, he was transferred to the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility, a move allegedly authorized by his current supervisor.
According to Dispatch, attendance records at the facility are handwritten, allowing for potential falsification of work hours or batch-signing of records under the discretion of the supervisor.
Dispatch claimed that the supervisor attempted to cover up MINO's alleged poor attendance to them by offering excuses like, "He's on leave today," "He's on sick leave today," or "He's hospitalized today."
When questioned about attendance records or CCTV footage, the supervisor reportedly responded, "I'm unable to provide that information as it is private."
A source cited by Dispatch also claimed that on workdays, when MINO did show up, he would clock in, step out for a cigarette, and then leave.
In response to this article, the Mapo District Office stated, "We are currently investigating the matter and will announce our position once details are confirmed."
YG Entertainment, MINO's agency, commented, "It is difficult to confirm specific details about his service. However, his sick leave was related to ongoing treatment he had been receiving prior to service, and all other leave, including vacations, was taken in accordance with regulations."
MINO enlisted at the Army Training Center on March 24 of last year, completed basic military training, and began his alternative service as a social service worker.
He is scheduled for discharge on the 23rd of this month.
