D.O. Says EXO Is Gearing Up for a Full-Group Comeback Soon

K-pop boy group EXO member/actor D.O. opened up about EXO's plans for a full-group comeback.

On January 22, D.O. sat down for an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, to discuss his first romantic film "Secret: Untold Melody," that is set to hit theaters on January 27. 

The film is a fantasy romance about Yoo-jun (D.O.) and Jung-ah (actress Won Jin A), who meet by chance in a university practice room that holds a time-related secret. A remake of a Taiwanese classic, the movie captures magical and heartwarming moments. 
Talking about the project, D.O. said, "I've always wanted to be part of a romance project. Love is such a universal emotion that everyone can relate to. I've been interested in exploring it as an actor. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to make the romantic scenes feel natural and not too cheesy. It wasn't easy watching myself in those moments, but overall, I'm happy with how it turned out." 

When asked about his approach to portraying romance, he shared, "I think parts of my real personality and past experiences with love came through in my performance. Emotions like liking someone are something everyone feels. While some of it was drawn from real experiences, I also relied a lot on indirect influences, like movies and dramas I've seen since I was a kid. They all tap into similar feelings of love, joy, and happiness. I also gained inspiration from listening to other people's stories and relationship advice—it all helped." 
After discussing "Secret: Untold Melody," D.O. also shared an update on EXO's group activities.

When asked if fans could expect a full-group comeback soon, he said, "Definitely. Even though some members are with different agencies now, everything related to EXO is still handled by SM Entertainment. Nothing has changed in that regard."

He continued, "We're preparing for a full-group comeback, so I want to tell our fans not to worry. They'll be able to see EXO together again soon. It won't happen this year, but we're starting preparations now, so it won't be long."
