On January 21, Kim Jong-kook and his friend, actor Cha Tae Hyun, guested on SBS' television show 'Whenever Possible'.
The two engaged in fun conversations with the hosts, entertainer Yu Jae Seok and actor Yoo Yeon Seok.
When Cha Tae Hyun asked 52-year-old Yu Jae Seok what it feels like to be in his 50s, the entertainer replied, "It doesn't feel good."
"When you reach 50, although you may not sense it right away, you will inevitably realize the difference between your 50s and your 40s.", he said to 48-year-old Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong-kook.

"But I think there's a difference between being in your 50s with a family and children versus being a single guy in his 50s.", the singer expressed.
"You would be the latter one, though.", Yoo Yeon Seok quipped, sending everyone into laughter.
"Marriage and parenthood are simply choices.", Yu Jae Seok said, reassuring Kim Jong-kook.

"I feel fine when I'm alone. But it hits me hard when I'm around my friends who are married and already have kids."
"Sometimes it feels like I'm sitting by myself, watching the time passing me by.", he added.
"You're fine. It's not like you only want to get married to someone who's never been married, right?", Cha Tae Hyun asked his friend.
"Well, I guess. I'm not limiting on the possibility.", Kim Jong-kook replied with a chuckle.

"Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say 'never'. But I'd like the person with me to respect the things that make me happy.", Kim Jong-kook said vaguely.
"What he means is that him hitting the gym should not be her problem.", Cha Tae Hyun playfully said.
The actor's accurate analysis of Kim Jong-kook, a famous gym rat, had everyone in stitches.
Kim Jong-kook explained, "I know that sacrifice is inevitable when you're marrying someone. But there's one thing I can't give up: my workout."
