"I Got That After a Breakup" (G)I-DLE YUQI Makes a Surprise Confession About Her Tattoo?
YUQI of K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE spilled the meaning behind the tattoo on her shoulder.

On January 22, the YouTube channel 'Pixid' posted a video featuring (G)I-DLE's SOYEON and YUQI chatting while preparing a meal.

The two talked about (G)I-DLE's recent good news: all the members successfully renewed their contracts with their management agency, CUBE Entertainment.
YUQISOYEON announced the news during her speech at the '2024 Melon Music Awards' after the group won the 'Record of the Year' award, one of four 'Daesang' (grand prize) categories at the awards ceremony.

Remembering the moment, YUQI said the group signed the contract paper just before taking the stage at the awards ceremony.

"If you watch the footage, you will notice that (G)I-DLE appeared a bit later than others. That was because we were signing paperwork in the waiting room until the last minute.", YUQI added and chuckled with SOYEON.
YUQISOYEON asked YUQI whether she was content with the terms of her renewed contract.

YUQI replied, "I focused on the profit percentage; what percentage of the profit is mine and how much goes to the company. It was acceptable."

"That percentage, I think, is quite crucial for us to keep on our activities.", she added.
YUQIDuring their conversation, SOYEON asked YUQI the meaning behind the tattoo on her shoulder, a drawing of a Welsh Corgi dog.

"It's a sad story. I got that after I broke up with my boyfriend.", YUQI remarked.

Everyone at the studio—including SOYEON—was shocked by her unexpected disclosure.

However, YUQI shortly said, "No, it's not true! I was kidding for the sake of the show!"
YUQIYUQI went on to explain the real meaning behind her tattoo.

"I was really into Welsh Corgis back then. You know how they have short legs, right? While other dogs with longer legs can walk farther and wider, Welsh Corgis can only go so far."

"I found them relatable. It was when my self-esteem was low, and I felt that I'm kind of like Welsh Corgis with legs shorter than others, having to take every step busier than others.", YUQI remarked.
