"It Hurt Me Greatly" Kim Jong-min Reveals That He Was Asked to Leave His Long-Time TV Show
Kim Jong-min of K-pop group Koyote opened up about the difficult time he experienced on '2 Days & 1 Night', the TV show he has been on for 18 years.

Kim Jong-min guested on the February 5 episode of MBC's talk show 'Radio Star' and mentioned KBS' television show '2 Days & 1 Night', which he has been part of since 2007.

The singer talked about a significant challenge he faced as he returned to the show after completing alternative military service.

"I anxiously awaited to be on the show again while fulfilling my service. But when I first returned to the shooting, it didn't go as well as I imagined."

"The other cast members felt awkward around me. The on-set atmosphere made me so self-conscious that I started to hesitate before speaking. Whenever I spoke, a chilling silence filled the air; this phenomenon lasted for two years.", Kim Jong-min revealed.
Kim Jong-min"And then, a national petition emerged, calling for my exit from the show.", Kim Jong-min remarked, reminiscing about the traumatic time.

"The graph showing how many people agreed kept getting bigger and bigger. I gradually fell into a deep pit of despair. Many have offered to help, but I was in such a bad place that I couldn't accept it."

"'Should I leave the show?', the thought crossed my mind. But it seemed like my life would end if I did. So I decided to stay."

"After a few years, things started to get better. I heard that my exit had been discussed, but it didn't happen as producer Na Young-seok stuck it out for me.", the singer added, expressing his gratitude.
Kim Jong-minKim Jong-min, currently participating in the fourth season of '2 Days & 1 Night', shared that he received a notice to leave the show in the third season.

"After receiving the notice, I made up my mind and decided to leave. But then, the production reached out, inviting me back. I asked (Kang) Ho-dong his opinion; he's the person I always turn to when there's trouble. After careful consideration, he suggested I take the offer."

"So, the next day, I contacted the production and said I'd re-join the show. The whole situation hurt me greatly, but I'm grateful now.", Kim Jong-min concluded.
