The group IVE (composed of An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Lee Seo) has achieved their fifth consecutive million-seller.
According to Hanteo Chart, South Korea's largest album sales tracking site, IVE's new release 'IVE EMPATHY,' which was released on the 3rd, recorded an initial sales figure of 1,048,048 copies within the first week. This marks the highest initial sales record for any K-pop album released this year.
With this achievement, IVE joins the ranks of 'five consecutive million-sellers,' following their third single 'After LIKE,' their first full album 'I've IVE,' their first mini album 'I'VE MINE,' and their second mini album 'IVE SWITCH,' all of which also surpassed one million in sales.
Prior to this, 'IVE EMPATHY' made headlines by debuting at number three on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart immediately after its release. It also topped the iTunes 'Top K-pop Album Chart' in 15 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, and Germany.
The title tracks 'REBEL HEART' and 'ATTITUDE' are also performing exceptionally well. With 'REBEL HEART,' which was pre-released on the 13th of last month, IVE secured the number one spot on Melon's TOP100 and HOT100 charts as of 10 AM on the 11th, and dominated the real-time, daily, and weekly charts on Bugs, Genie, FLO, and Vibe, marking the birth of yet another 'mega hit.' Additionally, they achieved a total of nine wins on domestic music shows and made significant entries on major global charts, including Billboard's 'Global 200,' 'Global (excluding the U.S.),' and the UK Official Chart.
'ATTITUDE' is also continuing its upward trajectory alongside IVE's music show activities. IVE has captivated K-pop fans with their stable live performances and addictive choreography, including the 'Wonyoung Turn,' 'Wiper Dance,' and 'Raging Guinea Pig' parts. As a result, 'ATTITUDE' has secured the number one spot on Vibe's domestic rising chart and the second spot on Bugs' real-time, daily, and weekly charts as of 10 AM on the 11th, solidifying its position at the top of major domestic music charts.
The new album 'IVE EMPATHY' presents a theme of 'empathy' while maintaining IVE's signature identity of 'assertive confidence.' As IVE successfully wraps up their first week of activities with the title track 'ATTITUDE,' anticipation builds for their future endeavors.
Meanwhile, IVE is expected to continue their active promotions with the title track 'ATTITUDE' from their third mini album 'IVE EMPATHY.' Member Rei will appear on JTBC's 'Hanblee (Han Moon-cheol's Black Box Review)' today (11th) at 8:50 PM.
