"She Even Gave Gifts to the Entire Crew" Kim Saeron's Final Film Director Says She Was Incredible

Director Shin Jae-ho shared his grief over the sudden passing of 24-year-old actress Kim Saeron, remembering her as passionate and down-to-earth.

On February 17, Shin Jae-ho sat down for an exclusive interview with news outlet Hankook Ilbo.

Shin Jae-ho had directed about half of Kim Saeron's final film, "Guitar Man," which is set to premiere in May.

He said that the crew members who had recently worked with her are in shock and mourning. 

More than anything, he found it hard to believe she is gone, as she had been so determined to make a comeback.
Shin Jae-ho recalled, "I first met Saeron during the table read for 'Guitar Man.' She was incredibly bright and more easygoing than I had expected. Afterward, we all went out for a meal and had a great conversation."

He continued, "Saeron told the other actors she was going to give this project her all and even told me she was looking forward to working together. She was full of energy. She had been in the industry for so long that she carried herself like a seasoned pro. On set, she didn't feel like a young actress—she had the presence of a veteran. Among the 'Guitar Man' cast, she had the most experience and performed with the skill of an industry veteran."

Shin Jae-ho also noted, "She really set the tone on set and had such a dedicated attitude toward her work. She was incredibly meticulous when it came to acting but otherwise just a normal, down-to-earth person. She even gave gifts to the entire crew and left behind so many great memories. Yesterday, some of the staff reached out to me, completely devastated. Saeron's passing has left a deep emotional scar on everyone who knew her."
Previously on the 16th, a friend found Kim Saeron dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

No signs of forced entry or foul play were found, but police are still investigating the cause of death.
