Set to premiere on the 21st, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Buried Hearts' (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu) follows Seo Dong-joo (played by Park Hyung-sik), who hacks a political slush fund worth 2 trillion won and risks everything to take down the absolute evil that killed him and dismantle that world. Park Hyung-sik's bold transformation as an actor has already generated high expectations ahead of the broadcast.
'Buried Hearts' vividly portrays human desires. These desires can manifest as money, power, or love, depending on the individual. The characters desperately chase their own ambitions, sometimes sacrificing something along the way.
In the drama, the couple Seo Dong-joo and Yeo Eun-nam (played by Hong Hwa-yeon) also find themselves at a crossroads between love and their own desires. Their choices are expected to be a crucial point in the early storyline of 'Buried Hearts.'
On the 17th, a two-person poster featuring the couple Seo Dong-joo and Yeo Eun-nam was released. Unlike many drama couple posters that evoke a sweet or romantic atmosphere, the 'Buried Hearts' poster gives off a sense of complex emotions intertwined with love, sparking curiosity.
In the released poster, Seo Dong-joo and Yeo Eun-nam are embracing each other. However, for some reason, their expressions do not appear entirely happy. They are not gazing into each other's eyes or engaging in passionate physical contact. Instead, what stands out are the emotions of sadness, emptiness, and regret reflected in their eyes. The tagline, "Our time has flowed differently. Back then... and now..." suggests that their love is far from smooth sailing. The reversed positioning of the two characters also hints that their relationship is anything but stable.
In relation to this, the production team of 'Buried Hearts' stated, "Seo Dong-joo is a character filled with confidence that he can succeed in both work and love. However, the love between Seo Dong-joo and Yeo Eun-nam is pushed to the brink due to a momentary choice. Their differing desires intertwine with their feelings of love, shaking their fates to the core. The delicate and rich performances of Park Hyung-sik and Hong Hwa-yeon will enhance the immersion. We ask for your great expectations."
'Buried Hearts' will air its first episode on Friday, the 21st, following 'Love Scout' at 10 PM.
