We had the opportunity to hear directly from director Jin Chang-kyu about the drama 'Buried Hearts.'

First, Jin described 'Buried Hearts' as "a story about fighting to seize one's own treasures―money, love, and power. It’s a comprehensive genre drama that blends elements of chaebols, politics, melodrama, and action." He emphasized that it is not a typical revenge story but rather a drama filled with diverse entertainment.

Jin recalled his first impression of the script for 'Buried Hearts,' stating, "I was particularly drawn to the fast-paced and unpredictable narrative structure from the very beginning. The intensity is very strong. The characters are not purely good or evil; they are simply loyal to their own desires. I appreciated how the story reflects some aspects of contemporary South Korean reality while pursuing dramatic excitement throughout." This was a key reason for his decision to direct 'Buried Hearts.'

What did Jin focus on most to bring this captivating story to life on screen? He explained, "I wanted to effectively express the emotions of the characters within their complex relationships. I also prioritized highlighting the individuality of each character. We put a lot of effort into filming and editing to ensure that the drama is accessible to viewers." He added, "The message of our work is ultimately that 'the treasures and desires we seek can lead to our downfall,' and I want to convey that to the audience."

With its fast-paced yet powerful narrative, unpredictable storyline, and the intense emotional changes and relationships of characters driven by desire, there are countless reasons to watch 'Buried Hearts.' Additionally, the performances of a strong cast, including Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho (playing Yeom Jang-seon), further enhance the drama.
