Previously on February 16 episode of MBC FM4U's radio show "Music Party," the host Kim Shin-young shared her thoughts after listening to PLAVE's new song "Dash."
Kim Shin-young said, "I just can't wrap my head around the concept of virtual idols. Honestly, I don't think they could even be on our show—I'd totally have a reality check moment the entire time if they did. Where am I supposed to look when they're not physically here? I know I should be more open to this kind of stuff, but I'm really struggling with it."
Her comments quickly sparked major backlash from fans, who felt she was disrespecting virtual idols.

She went on to say, "This situation has really made me reflect on the weight of my words and my responsibility as a radio show host. Moving forward, I'll be more mindful of what I say. I'll also support PLAVE, just like everyone else who appreciates their hard work."
She added, "I completely misread the current trends. PLAVE has been working hard for a long time, and my comments weren't just ignorant—they were rude. I was really out of line. Their fans should have been able to enjoy their weekend, but instead, my words ruined that. I deeply regret it and take full responsibility."
Kim Shin-young ended by saying, "Once again, I sincerely apologize. I'll make sure to educate myself and be more open-minded so things like this don't happen again."
