On February 23 episode of MBN's television show "Let's Go GO Season 4,"  featured Ahn Jung-hwan and comedian Hong Hyun-hee visiting the home of Cheonghak-dong master Kim Bong-gon and his teenage daughter Kim Da-hyun.

During their visit, Ahn Jung-hwan asked Kim Da-hyun, who is a singer, "Have you ever felt frustrated with your father?" Kim Da-hyun responded, "I wouldn't say I've ever felt frustrated, but our personalities are very different, so we do clash sometimes."

He explained why he resorted to this method, saying, "Boys need to be disciplined during their adolescence," and added, "If you don't, their anger ends up being directed at their mom, who's physically weaker."

Ahn Jung-hwan continued, "I thought it would get worse if I didn't do anything, so I used physical discipline. Afterward, I just wanted to cut off my own hand," showing his regret.

He added, "But I felt like I had to do it for his sake," and mentioned, "I did it a few more times. Later, when I asked Ri-hwan why he did the things that led me to discipline him, he said he didn't even know."
