Global artist JENNIE has claimed the top spot on a music show.
On the March 20th broadcast of Mnet's 'M Countdown,' JENNIE secured the No. 1 position with her first solo studio album's title track, 'Like JENNIE,' without making an appearance. This marks her first music show win since her comeback with 'Like JENNIE.'
The title track 'Like JENNIE' is a song that JENNIE co-wrote and composed, emphasizing individuality and originality. It captures the essence of shining confidently without losing one's unique color and character. The song narrates the moment of realizing that no one can take your place as you confidently walk your own path.
JENNIE's first solo studio album, 'Ruby,' has achieved significant success on various global charts. 'Ruby' reached No. 7 on the latest Billboard 200 chart (dated March 22), while the title track 'Like JENNIE' entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 83.
Additionally, the track 'Handlebars (feat. Dua Lipa)' reached No. 80, and 'ExtraL (feat. Doechii)' re-entered at No. 99, making JENNIE the first K-pop female solo artist to have three songs simultaneously chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
Previously, JENNIE set a record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop female solo artist this year with 'Ruby,' selling 661,130 copies. She also achieved the highest ranking for a K-pop female solo artist on the UK Official Albums Chart, debuting at No. 3.
