'The Haunted Palace' First Love→Enemies; Yook Sung-jae·Kim Ji-yeon's Interesting Relationship Catch Attention
GwigungA new still from 'The Haunted Palace' featuring Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon has been released, showcasing their contrasting dynamics.

Set to premiere in April, SBS' new Friday-Saturday drama 'The Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung, directed by Yoon Sung-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy. It follows the story of Yeori, a shaman who rejects her fate, and Kang Cheol, a dragon spirit trapped in the body of Yeori's first love, Yoon Gap. Together, they face off against a vengeful spirit haunting the royal family, leading to a tangled mess of body and soul. Directed by Yoon Sung-sik, known for dramas like 'Mr. Queen,' 'You Are the Best!,' 'Bridal Mask,' and 'Dae Jo-yeong,' and written by Yoon Soo-jung, who penned 'The King's Face' and 'Cheer Up!,' the drama features a fresh and talented cast including Yook Sung-jae (as Yoon Gap/Kang Cheol), Kim Ji-yeon (as Yeori), and Kim Ji-hoon (as Lee Sung), raising expectations.

Yook Sung-jae plays the dual role of Yoon Gap, a charming and intelligent nobleman, and Kang Cheol, a mischievous dragon spirit possessing Yoon Gap's body. Kim Ji-yeon portrays Yeori, the only granddaughter of a famous shaman, who possesses extraordinary spiritual abilities but chooses to live as an independent and warm-hearted artisan, rejecting her shamanic destiny.

On the 25th, the 'The Haunted Palace' team released a still that hints at the extraordinary fate awaiting Yoon Gap and Yeori.

In the released still, Yoon Gap and Yeori are seen exchanging affectionate glances on a street corner. Dressed in a lavender robe, Yoon Gap's tender gaze evokes a sense of excitement, while Yeori's bright smile reflects the innocence of first love.

However, the next still reveals a dramatic shift in their relationship, sparking curiosity. This change occurs after Kang Cheol possesses Yoon Gap's body. With a mischievous expression and playful eyes, Kang Cheol brings out a side of Yoon Gap that was never seen before. The once sweet chemistry between Yeori and Yoon Gap turns into a fiery rivalry, with sparks flying whenever they meet. A particularly humorous moment captures Yeori desperately trying to silence Kang Cheol, adding a comedic touch. Despite their constant bickering, the duo's inseparable bond hints at a love-hate romance that viewers can look forward to.

The 'The Haunted Palace' team commented, "As Yook Sung-jae takes on the challenge of playing two roles, the dynamic between 'Kang Cheol' and 'Yoon Gap' with Kim Ji-yeon will create a multi-dimensional romantic narrative. The unique blend of innocent charm and love-hate tension is perfectly captured by Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon, who share a natural chemistry. Comparing the two couples, who look the same but have entirely different relationships, will be another enjoyable aspect of 'The Haunted Palace.'"

'The Haunted Palace' is set to premiere in April, following the conclusion of 'Buried Hearts.'
