Set to premiere on Friday, the 18th, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung, directed by Yoon Sung-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy about a shaman named Yeori who rejects her fate as a medium. She becomes entangled with Kang Cheol, an Imoogi spirit trapped in the body of her first love, Yoon Gap, as they confront a vengeful spirit haunting the royal family. Director Yoon Sung-sik, known for 'Mr. Queen,' 'You Are the Best!,' 'Bridal Mask,' and 'Dae Jo-yeong,' teams up with writer Yoon Soo-jung, who penned 'The King's Face' and 'Cheer Up!' The fresh casting of Yook Sung-jae (as Yoon Gap/Kang Cheol), Kim Ji-yeon (as Yeori), and Kim Ji-hoon (as Lee Jung) promises an exciting synergy.

Yook Sung-jae plays Yoon Gap, Yeori's first love who becomes possessed by the mischievous spirit Kang Cheol, while Kim Ji-yeon portrays Yeori, the only granddaughter of a famous shaman. Despite her exceptional spiritual abilities, she rejects her destiny as a shaman and lives as a skilled eyeglass artisan. Their romance is a tangled web of bodies and souls, promising a unique love-hate relationship. On the 1st, the production team released two character posters showcasing the captivating performances of Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon, capturing the audience's attention.

In his character poster, Yook Sung-jae embodies the imposing presence of 'Imoogi Kang Cheol'. With a sly and arrogant smile, he stands confidently, revealing his mischievous nature. The mysterious scales on his black robe, the aura of a massive sword on his shoulder, and the background depicting a rising Imoogi all contribute to his undeniable charisma. From playful mischief to intense charisma, Yook Sung-jae's portrayal of the ancient Imoogi promises a captivating performance.

On the other hand, Kim Ji-yeon captivates with her determined gaze, even within her elegant appearance. Her green shaman attire hints at Yeori's story of rejecting her fate as a medium, sparking curiosity. The Imoogi design on the fan she holds suggests an inseparable connection between Yeori and Kang Cheol, adding intrigue. As a pure soul who captures the Imoogi's heart, Kim Ji-yeon's portrayal of a strong, independent character is highly anticipated, leaving viewers eager to see how their intertwined destinies unfold in the series.

The quotes on each character poster further heighten anticipation for this love-hate romance. Yook Sung-jae's poster features the line, "You think you can find and return that spirit? That's nonsense!" while Kim Ji-yeon's poster reads, "I will surely save you, my lord." These lines hint at the constant bickering and tension between their characters, raising expectations for the unprecedented love-hate couple of 'Imoogi and Shaman'.

Meanwhile, 'The Haunted Palace' is set to premiere on Friday, the 18th, at 9:50 PM, following the currently airing 'Buried Hearts'.
