Park Hae-soo Makes a Grand Return on Netflix, Leading 'Karma' to No. 1
Fateful Encounter
Actor Park Hae-soo has reunited with global audiences through the Netflix series 'Karma.'

Released on April 4, 'Karma' is a crime thriller that weaves together the stories of six individuals entangled in inescapable fates. In the series, Park Hae-soo plays the pivotal role of the "Witness," amplifying the tension throughout the narrative.

The "Karma" is a crucial character who sets the events in motion. He witnesses a hit-and-run accident caused by "Glasses Guy" (played by Lee Kwang-soo) on the road. Moreover, he becomes an unwilling accomplice, helping to dispose of a body under the influence of "Glasses Guy," who is unable to make sound decisions due to his intoxicated state.

Despite his initial shock at witnessing the incident, the "Witness" quickly reveals his true nature. He nonchalantly demands more money from "Glasses Guy," saying, "Give me an extra ten million won," and later appears at "Glasses Guy's" clinic, insisting, "I need three million more," tightening his grip on him.

The character's complexity is further highlighted when it is revealed that the "Witness" is not just a bystander but a co-conspirator and accomplice with Yoo-jung (played by Gong Seung-yeon) in orchestrating the entire incident. Even after all the truths are unveiled, his cold and calculated demeanor remains, adding a chilling edge to his character.

Park Hae-soo masterfully portrays the duality of the "Witness" with his unique ability to embody both good and evil, drawing on his extensive acting experience.

Since 2021, Park Hae-soo has appeared in four Netflix series, including 'Squid Game' Season 1, 'Narco-Saints,' 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area,' and now 'Karma,' earning him the nickname "Netflix's Civil Servant." The new release 'Karma' quickly climbed to the top of the charts in South Korea upon its release on April 4.
