GwigungActor Kim Young-kwang is set to make a special appearance in the premiere of 'The Haunted Palace,' leaving a strong impression right from the start.

Scheduled to air on Friday, the 18th, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'The Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung, directed by Yoon Sung-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy about a shaman named Yeori, who rejects her fate as a medium, and Imoogi Kang Cheol, who is trapped in the body of Yeori's first love, Yoon Gap. The story unfolds as they encounter a vengeful spirit, leading to a tangled mess of bodies and souls. Directed by Yoon Sung-sik, known for 'Mr. Queen,' 'You Are the Best!,' 'Bridal Mask,' and 'Dae Jo Yeong,' and written by Yoon Soo-jung, who penned 'The King's Face' and 'Cheer Up!,' the drama features a fresh cast including Yook Sung-jae (as Yoon Gap/Kang Cheol), Kim Ji-yeon (as Yeori), and Kim Ji-hoon (as Lee Jung), raising expectations.

Kim Young-kwang will make a special appearance as the original form of 'Imoogi Kang Cheol' before he possesses the human body of 'Yoon Gap.' Kang Cheol is an evil spirit who harbors deep resentment towards humans for not becoming a dragon. He follows Yeori, hoping to ascend by borrowing her spiritual powers, but ends up trapped in the body of her first love, Yoon Gap, due to an unexpected incident.

On the 16th, the 'The Haunted Palace' team released stills of Kim Young-kwang as 'Kang Cheol.' In the images, Kim Young-kwang exudes an aura and charisma befitting a celestial being. Walking with a black robe adorned with dragon scales, he embodies the 'evil spirit Imoogi' perfectly. His intense gaze and commanding presence instantly captivate viewers. Even before his full-fledged appearance, Kim Young-kwang's portrayal of this powerful character is highly anticipated.

Additionally, the scene where he locks eyes with Kim Ji-yeon is striking. In the drama, 'Kang Cheol,' invisible to ordinary humans, builds a fateful connection with Yeori before possessing Yoon Gap's body. Kim Young-kwang's role as the original form of Kang Cheol is crucial to the story's beginning, drawing attention to his performance.

The 'The Haunted Palace' production team expressed their gratitude, saying, "We are thankful to actor Kim Young-kwang for his willingness to contribute despite the brief appearance. He will open the story of the evil spirit Imoogi Kang Cheol with his deep gaze, intense aura, and unique, mysterious visuals. Please look forward to it."

'The Haunted Palace' is set to premiere on Friday, the 18th, at 9:50 PM, following 'Buried Hearts.'
