Actor Lee Hee-jun, who has directed the film 'Rectangle, Triangle' and stars in 'Güle-Güle,' has been officially invited to the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival.
Lee Hee-jun, acclaimed for his limitless character transformations across drama, film, and theater, as well as his compelling acting that wins over audiences, presents his second directorial work, 'Rectangle, Triangle.' This film, which Lee wrote and directed, unfolds the story of a family gathering meant to be pleasant but gradually reveals long-standing conflicts. It has been officially invited to the Korean Cinema section of the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival. This marks another occasion for Lee to meet the audience as a director following his autobiographical short 'Byunghoon's Day' in 2018.
The Jeonju International Film Festival commented, "'Rectangle, Triangle' sharply yet entertainingly explores the nature of family within the confined space of an actual villa. Despite the challenging environment where just sitting down fills the space, Lee Hee-jun's ability to draw out dense performances from the actors is remarkable."
Additionally, Lee Hee-jun will visit Jeonju as an actor in 'Güle-Güle,' following his collaboration with director Ko Bong-soo in 'The Rain Comes Soon' 'Güle-Güle' is a film that addresses the complexities and wounds of human relationships with humor and warmth. Lee will participate in the opening ceremony, audience Q&A sessions (GV), and various events to share behind-the-scenes stories of the film.
As Lee Hee-jun shines at the Jeonju International Film Festival both as a director and an actor with these two works, anticipation is building. The 26th Jeonju International Film Festival will take place from April 30 to May 9, around Jeonju Cinema Street and other areas in Jeonju City.
