Girls' Generation Taeyeon has publicly shared a statement from fans demanding accountability for the cancellation of her concert in Tokyo, Japan.
On the 24th, Taeyeon took to her social media to post the full text of a statement titled 'Feedback and Compensation Demand Statement on the Cancellation of Taeyeon's Concert 'The TENSE' in Tokyo,' which was released by a global fan coalition.
In the statement, fans called for feedback from SM Entertainment regarding the unilateral and insincere cancellation notice, and demanded the announcement of specific compensation plans for the economic and psychological damage inflicted on fans due to the inadequate response.
Previously, the day after the concert cancellation was announced, Taeyeon expressed her frustration on a fan communication platform, saying, "I hate this whole situation and feel sorry for the fans. It feels like my concert, created with everyone's effort and anticipation, has been stolen away in an instant. I don't know how to express this feeling of emptiness and disillusionment."
With Taeyeon openly supporting the fan coalition, all eyes are on whether SM Entertainment will issue an additional statement regarding the concert cancellation.
Earlier, SM Entertainment had announced through the official Japanese website on the 17th that Taeyeon's solo debut 10th anniversary concert 'The TENSE,' scheduled to be held at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo on the 19th and 20th, was cancelled. They explained that "the equipment used for the Asia tour, which was being transported to Japan, has not arrived yet, and it is very difficult to prepare adequately for the performance at this point."
