On the broadcast of SBS's 'Whenever Possible' on the 27th, according to Nielsen Korea, the show hit its highest ratings at 5.6%, with 4.2% in the metropolitan area, 3.5% nationwide, and 1.8% among the 20-49 demographic.
This sweep of the ratings in both the metropolitan area and among the coveted 20-49 demographic solidified its position as the reigning champion of Tuesday night variety shows.
In the latest episode, the dynamic duo MCs Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok, along with "gap friends" Son Suk-ku and Kim Da-mi, visited a fashion company and a taco shop in Dogok-dong, spreading laughter and good fortune with their delightful banter.
Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok warmly welcomed the variety show newcomers Son Suk-ku and Kim Da-mi, who appeared visibly nervous at the start.
Kim Da-mi, experiencing TV variety for the first time, commented, "There are so many cameras. I was nervous, but I slept well," sharing her first impressions with a calm demeanor that brought laughter.
Especially when Kim Da-mi continuously poured out reactions, Yoo Yeon-seok praised, "Your reactions are great. You seem more comfortable than Seok-gu," raising expectations for her "reaction fairy" debut.
Son Suk-ku also caught attention by revealing his nickname related to Dogok-dong.
"I jog at Yangjaecheon every dawn, so my nickname is 'Yangjaecheon Raccoon,'" he shared, to which Yoo Jae-suk joked, "You do have a raccoon vibe," and Son Suk-ku playfully retorted, "Real raccoons do live in Yangjaecheon," showcasing their witty exchange.
The first "gap owner" they met was an employee at a fashion company in Dogok-dong.
Son Suk-ku humorously asked, "How do people working in offices deal with sleepiness after lunch? I've always been curious," before confessing, "I've fallen asleep during shoots because of post-lunch drowsiness. It's so hard to stay awake," eliciting laughter.
Starting with zero bonus coupons, the game was 'Fly, Hanger.' Son Suk-ku, after several failed attempts, suggested, "Can't we throw multiple at once?" and upon successfully hitting the target with a 'single shot' during a practice throw, he excitedly claimed, "I put everything on this."
Achieving success on the fifth attempt with Son Suk-ku's '7-shot,' he gleamed, "You have to throw seven at a time," and Yoo Jae-suk laughed, "The first stage success is pushing Seok-gu to the edge." Riding on their momentum, they breezed through the second stage with Yoo Jae-suk's '4-shot knockout,' savoring their thrilling victory.
During lunch, the next "gap owner" turned out to be the owner of Son Suk-ku's favorite restaurant, in a surprising twist of fate that stirred excitement on the set.
Yoo Yeon-seok, experiencing such a coincidence for the first time since the show's broadcast, exclaimed, "Today is our lucky day." The banter continued with a talk on exercise.
Yoo Jae-suk shared, "When you exercise in a group, isn't there someone to cheer you on? I find that kind of cheerleading burdensome, so I prefer to work out alone," revealing his solitary workout preference.
Son Suk-ku related, "I recently started CrossFit, and at first, I was embarrassed when cheered on, but now I've grown to love it," drawing laughter with his shared experience.
After lunch, the next "gap" location, managed by a pair of brothers running a taco shop, was reached with the least amount of steps ever.
Son Suk-ku shared a surprising revelation about his relationship with his younger brother, "I have a younger brother, and I'm actually scared of him. Sometimes, it feels like he's the one putting up with me," turning the set into a sea of laughter.
The following game, 'Clang! Clang! Can Baseball,' a challenging game requiring players to hit a ping pong ball with a bottle opener, saw Son Suk-ku declaring, "I'll come up with another strategy," as he quickly got the hang of it, heating up the atmosphere.
Then, Kim Da-mi played a 'masterstroke,' causing an uproar on the set.
During the third attempt, as Yoo Yeon-seok was hitting the ball, Kim Da-mi suddenly offered her ball to him, and with that ball, Yoo Yeon-seok hit the can, leading to a successful first stage.
Yoo Jae-suk and Son Suk-ku couldn't hide their amazement, exclaiming, "Da-mi really knows how to read the game," "That's a masterstroke!" Son Suk-ku then showcased a 'one-hit double victory' technique, swiftly achieving success in the second stage.
Yoo Jae-suk excitedly questioned, "Seok-gu, what exactly are you? This hasn't happened since (Cha) Seung-won," unable to contain his excitement.
Eventually, the third stage saw Son Suk-ku knocking down three cans in one go, with the last remaining can on the table rolling off, completing a dramatic finish.
Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok were moved, comparing it to Tiger Woods' 'The Shot,' exclaiming, "This is like a drama," and Yoo Jae-suk even speculated, "The ninth attempt, 'Nine Puzzles,' could this be fate?" igniting a dopamine rush.
Thus, the four achieved a remarkable feat, succeeding in all games through Son Suk-ku's bold strategy and impeccable timing.
Alongside, the variety show rookies Son Suk-ku and Kim Da-mi threw themselves into the play and reactions, marking a strong debut in the show world with their lively laughter.
Hosted by the dynamic duo MCs Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok, 'Whenever Possible' is a show that gifts moments of fortune in the brief gaps of everyday life, airing every Tuesday night at 9 PM.
