Set to premiere on June 13th (Friday), SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Our Movie' (written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, directed by Lee Jung-heum) tells the urgent love story between a film director, Lee Je-ha (played by Namkoong Min), who has no tomorrow, and an actress, Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-been), who lives as if today is her last.
Jeon Yeo-been, known for her chameleon-like ability to transform into a wide array of characters, has garnered attention for her role as Lee Da-eum, a terminal patient taking on her first leading role at the end of her life. Jeon chose 'Our Movie' for "Namkoong Min's solid and delicately shining performance, and Director Lee Jung-heum's unpredictable directing style."
Jeon was especially drawn to the character Lee Da-eum, describing her first impression from the script as "someone just like the sunshine." She continued, "She's someone who lights up herself and those around her with the energy she possesses, beautiful at both dawn and dusk."
Captivated by the role of Lee Da-eum, Jeon describes her character as someone "whose dreams and love for the present moment are desperate, intense, and precious, thus fully embracing the brilliance and happiness of life."
Therefore, "Da-eum is a vividly alive being, hard to pin down to a single genre or keyword," Jeon shared, adding that she focused on the character's inner self to bring out these aspects in her performance.
In the drama, Lee Da-eum lands her first leading role in a movie titled 'White Love', which centers around a terminal patient. Jeon, playing a role within a role, said, "The protagonist of 'White Love' finds herself in a similar situation to Da-eum, which naturally led me to blend into the character of Da-eum in 'White Love'."
With her indescribable charm and lovely energy, Jeon Yeo-been in 'Our Movie' is highly anticipated. The drama follows 'The Haunted Palace' and will premiere on June 13th (Friday) at 9:50 PM.
