aespa member KARINA has directly addressed fans regarding a misunderstanding that arose from her wearing an outfit perceived to have political implications.
On the 28th, KARINA took to the fan communication platform Bubble to say, "I'm really sorry for making MY (fandom name) worry. I had no such intention, but seeing how the misunderstanding has grown and how worried MY have become, I felt I needed to speak up." She explained why she decided to post her message.
She continued, "I will pay more attention and be more careful in the future. I'm sorry once again for causing you worry. Hope you all have a great day," expressing her apologies to the shocked fans.
KARINA had posted a photo of herself wearing a red windbreaker with the number 2 on it to Instagram the day before, which led to speculation about her political stance. Some speculated that KARINA was showing support for Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, ahead of the "Rose" Election.
Meanwhile, singer JK Kim Dong-wook, who has openly supported People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo, posted on social media on the 28th, "A big shot who used to run a notable company once told me this. Dong-wook can make such political statements without hesitation because he doesn't have a management company," adding, "Hey, these days, even idols from major agencies are boldly expressing their opinions." He reiterated his speculation that KARINA's outfit was a political statement.
