Nah Sang-hyun, the lead vocalist of the band Band Nah, has reversed his stance 9 days after apologizing and expressing remorse over allegations of sexual harassment at a drinking party, stating, "The clarification led to misunderstandings due to facts being different."
On the 2nd, January Inc. stated, "We apologize for the delay in our response to the explosive posts targeting Nah Sang-hyun, due to a lack of internal structure within the company. Immediately after the allegations were made public, the artist issued a preemptive statement based on moral responsibility, even though the facts had not been fully verified."
They added, "This was a response born from the artist's belief that it is better to apologize first for the controversy raised, rather than remain silent in the face of someone's claim of harm. After carefully reviewing the situation with the artist, we declare that the actions mentioned in the post are not true."
Following the exposure on the 23rd of last month, which claimed Nah Sang-hyun pretended to be drunk to touch a woman and acted as if it was a mistake when confronted, he stated, "I apologize, albeit late. About 3 to 4 years ago, I was pointed out for my behavior while drinking and have since deeply reflected, receiving help from those around me to continuously work on improving myself."
The company explained, "The artist's mention of that time period was to describe the duration over which he had checked and improved his lifestyle habits as his drinking increased. We realized only after issuing the statement that this expression could be misunderstood as an acknowledgment of the incident. We deeply apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding caused by our attempt to convey our intentions without sufficient explanation."
Finally, the company sincerely apologized "once again for the shock and concern caused by our inadequate response to the fans and all parties involved in this incident." They also added that they would take legal action against indiscriminate speculative comments and defamation directed at the members of Band Nah.
