On the 1st, Lee Dong-wook shared through the fan communication platform Bubble that he had fulfilled his civic duty by participating in early voting on the 29th of last month, stating, "I'll be filming on the actual voting day. Plus, early voting is more convenient. Shorter lines and all."
Furthermore, Lee Dong-wook addressed those hesitant to vote, saying, "I always tell you guys who say there's no one worth voting for that voting is about preventing the worst. If there's no best option, choose the next best. If there's no next best, choose the lesser evil to prevent the worst."
Following the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol last April, Lee Dong-wook posted a photo of cherry blossoms with the caption, "Ah, finally it feels like spring. Winter was too long." He added, "There was a forecast for rain today. But it turned out to be really clear. The weather is nice, so everyone should go out and enjoy."
Although Lee Dong-wook did not mention the impeachment directly, fans speculated that his comment about spring arriving might have been an indirect reference to the impeachment decision. Previously, Lee Dong-wook had shared the song "Into the New World" by Girls' Generation with fans who attended impeachment support rallies, sending them his encouragement.
