[SBS Night] 'Kick a Goal' Nine Cheok Giants Triumph Over Streaming Fighters with a 2-0 Victory
Kick a GoalThe Nine Cheok Giants have defeated the Streaming Fighters.

In the broadcast of SBS 'Kick a Goal' on the 4th, the G League B Group preliminary round took place.

During the broadcast, the Streaming Fighters faced off against the Nine Cheok Giants.

Before the game, the stands were filled with the families of both teams' members, drawing attention. The Nine Cheok Giants' Lee Hyun-yi's husband and second son, Yeongseo, along with the Streaming Fighters's Shim Euddem's twin brother, nephew, and husband, were there to cheer on the players.

Especially, Lee Hyun-yi said, "I'm really nervous. I usually don't invite friends or family, but my second son is a huge fan of 'Kick a Goal.' He watches every week and knows all the players' names. It would be strange not to invite him since I'm playing in 'Kick a Goal.' So, after much deliberation, I decided to invite them," she shared with a nervous expression.

Coach Lee Young-pyo played the Cha Seo-rin card to counter Streaming Fighters's Shim Euddem. And Cha Seo-rin executed her role flawlessly.

Moreover, Shim Euddem's shot hit the goalpost and bounced off, adding to the disappointment. Lee Hyun-yi's husband commented, "Mom must have cast a spell on the goalpost earlier," suggesting Lee Hyun-yi's prayers might have helped the Nine Cheok Giants.

As the physical battle between the teams intensified, goals were hard to come by. Then, a kick-in from Cha Seo-rin was successfully converted by Lee Hye-jung, marking her first goal since transferring, to everyone's delight.

Lee Hye-jung expressed, "I'm so happy. I feel like I've finally become a true Tall Warrior," sharing her thoughts.

The Streaming Fighters's focused defense on set pieces ultimately could not prevent the goals, leading to disappointment.

Shim Euddem, frustrated by the relentless marking, shed tears, overwhelmed by the Nine Cheok Giants' significant height advantage. Coach Lee Young-pyo of the Nine Cheok Giants was satisfied, deeming the Cha Seo-rin card a resounding success.

The second half continued with intense competition. Despite numerous attempts, neither a comeback goal nor an additional goal materialized.

Then, a kick-in from Kim Jin-kyung found its way into the net, causing celebration. Coach Park Ju-ho claimed there was no touch, arguing it was not a goal, while Coach Lee Young-pyo insisted it touched a player's hand, arguing for the goal.

After video review, the referees confirmed the ball touched a player's hand before entering the goal, validating the score.

Ultimately, the game ended with a 2-0 victory for the Nine Cheok Giants. Consequently, the Streaming Fighters headed straight to the elimination round.

After the game, the Nine Cheok Giants' captain, Lee Hyun-yi, hugged her son who ran to her, apologizing for not scoring a goal.

She added, "I didn't want to show my family the rough side of me. I can't even understand why I feel this way. That's why I haven't invited them until now."

Lee Hyun-yi continued, "Soccer has changed my life. Meeting these over 60 teammates made me realize this is what life is about. I might love this program more than the production team does. It's such a special show. I hope 'Kick a Goal' does really well and lasts a long time. I don't know how long we can do this, but I wish our country had at least one program like this," she candidly expressed, drawing attention.

Meanwhile, at the end of the broadcast, a showdown between the B Group's strongest teams, Wonder Women and Balladream, was teased, sparking curiosity about the next episode.
