'The Remarried Empress' is a romantic fantasy epic that unfolds as the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, 'Navier' (Shin Mina), receives a divorce notice from Emperor 'Sovieshu' (Ju Ji-hoon), who has fallen for the runaway slave 'Rashta' (Lee Se-young). In response, Navier demands permission to remarry Prince 'Heinley' (Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom. The story, which began as a web novel in 2018 and quickly gained explosive popularity before being adapted into a webtoon, has captivated readers worldwide after being translated into ten languages. Now, it is generating buzz as it's being produced as a series.
The direction of 'The Remarried Empress' is led by director Jo Soo-won, who has been acclaimed for his delicate portrayal of emotions and elegant directing style in works such as 'I Can Hear Your Voice,' 'Pinocchio,' and Still 17.
