Netflix's new series 'Trigger' is set to premiere on July 25th (Friday).
'Trigger' is a gun action disaster thriller set in South Korea, a nation known for its strict gun control, where illegal firearms of unknown origin are being delivered, leading to an endless series of gun-related incidents. In a world where safety mechanisms have been disabled, the story follows two men who take up arms for their own reasons, delivering a thrilling experience with dynamic gun action that stimulates the trigger in people's hearts.
This series brings together action thriller veterans Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang, raising expectations. Kim Nam-gil plays 'Lee Do,' a police officer who takes up his gun again to uphold justice, while Kim Young-kwang portrays 'Moon Baek,' a mysterious ally who assists Lee Do at the scene of a gun incident.

The cast is further bolstered by reliable actors such as Park Hoon, Gil Hae-yeon, and Kim Won-hae, enhancing the realism and anticipation for the series. Moreover, director Kwon Oh-seung, who gained attention at the Fantasia International Film Festival for the movie 'Midnight,' is at the helm as both director and writer, promising the birth of a unique genre piece.
The release of a compelling teaser poster and trailer has amplified curiosity. Lee Do (played by Kim Nam-gil) and Moon Baek (played by Kim Young-kwang) are confronted with a box containing an unidentified gun, heralding the start of chaos in 'gun-free' South Korea. The starkly different expressions of the two men heighten the intrigue about their reasons for taking up arms.
The teaser trailer, with its unrelenting suspense, captures the audience's attention. "Everyone has a trigger in their heart," a significant line followed by the sound of gunfire, marks the beginning of the chaos. The discovery of dozens of bullets and guns across various locations, and the intriguing fact that these untraceable firearms are being delivered via courier, spreads illegal guns like wildfire in a world where conflict translates to profit, escalating the sense of crisis.

Amidst the unexpected turmoil in gun-free South Korea, Lee Do begins to unravel the truth behind the incidents. Moon Baek's question, "What would happen if everyone in Korea had a gun? Aren't you curious?" tightens the tension.
Director Kwon Oh-seung describes 'Trigger' as "a story where things everyone has imagined at least once become reality," highlighting that the series will introduce guns in a manner different from traditional Korean movies and dramas, with firearms playing a central role in the narrative, thereby raising expectations.
