Lee Kyung-kyu Faces Possible Prosecution for Driving Under Influence of Prescription Drugs
Lee Kyung-kyu
Comedian Lee Kyung-kyu, 65, has been investigated by the police for driving under the influence of drugs.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned Lee for questioning as a suspect of violating the Road Traffic Act from 9 PM for about 1 hour and 45 minutes on the 24th.

After the investigation, Lee stated, "I wasn't fully aware that driving while on medication for panic disorder, especially when feeling unwell, was not advisable. If the medication includes substances that could impair driving, it might be best to avoid driving. I will be more cautious in the future."

Previously, on the 8th, Lee was found driving another person's car in a parking lot in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul. The police conducted a field drug test, which returned a positive result.

Regarding this, Lee's representatives explained, "The drugs detected in the National Forensic Service test did not contain narcotic elements but were indeed the components of the panic disorder medication Lee has been taking. He has cooperated fully with the investigation and acknowledged the charges."

The police plan to forward the case to the prosecution soon if there is no significant discrepancy in the statements and the charges.
