Jeong Sook (nickname) from ENA and SBS Plus's 'I Am Solo' Season 10, has been fined for assaulting a man during a dispute over a taxi ride by slapping him multiple times.
The Daegu District Court, on the 24th, concluded the sentencing for Jeong Sook, who was charged with assault, property damage, and insult without detention, imposing a fine of 7 million won.
On the early morning of October 3rd last year, in front of a nightclub in Suseong-gu, Daegu, Jeong Sook got into an argument over a taxi ride and slapped a man in his 40s six times. She also dropped his phone on the ground, breaking the screen, because he was recording her. Additionally, she was charged with insulting the man at the scene.
The court noted, "The defendant has admitted to the crime and shown remorse, and the fact that the incident occurred somewhat impulsively while under the influence of alcohol is considered in her favor. However, not having received forgiveness from the victim and having a criminal record for a similar assault are unfavorable factors."
The news of Jeong Sook facing trial for assault charges first came to light on June 6th through JTBC's 'Crime Chief'.
The victim, Mr. A, mentioned in the broadcast, "After reporting the incident, when I called Jeong Sook, she initially had a defiant attitude, saying 'I'll just pay a fine of about 1 million won, and it'll be taken care of.' However, during a second call, she apologized, claiming she did not remember well because she was drunk."
